Let me tell you people something I work for an airlines and have traveled the world and last night I was pleasantly surprised how GREAT this place that is right in my own backyard really is from the calamari to the delicious flavored Sangria and great service needles to say I've found my new go to spot

Discovered this place by accident last Tuesday while driving looking for a place to have dinner. Was pleasantly surprised. Service was great, helpful and friendly. Sangria was delicious.

Went to Sangria with my wife on a Thursday night and we had a good time. The complimentary food was good; we asked for seconds. And the entrees were delicious. I had the grilled churrasco and my wife had the chicken manchego. Both dishes were very appetizing and the presentation was a nice surprise. The staff was very friendly, and very attentive. They have 4 types of sangrias! 4!!! They brought out samples of all 4 sangrias and the waiter explained each one and what they contained. Needless to say, it was really good All in all, this is a great restaurant with a good vibe, a staff that knows what they're doing, and a dedicated chef. Please give this place a try. You won't be disappointed

The sangrias were not good, although it was nice of them to let you sample all 4. I had the paella which came out cold! Chicken was dry and, overall bland and not good. Told the server and he offered to get me a hot one but I declined. We also had a chicken dish which was dry too! Never going back and I suggest you run away! If it's too late, may God have mercy on your soul

Absolutely delicious! Really?....Whitestone/Bayside folk you have no idea what you have in your neighborhood! The apricot sangria was banging! They let you sample all 4 flavors. The rose and white sangria were a little weak and the bartender corrected immediately! We ordered some tapas and side dishes to try out the menu. The hummus was the best ever and being of Mediterranean descent I know my hummus. The 3 sauces that accompanied the platanos chips was delish. The ham croquettes was right on par. I am so happy to have this restaurant in my neighborhood and I will be back to order main dishes!

New tapas bar on Francis Lewis. A great addition to the neighborhood. Awesome sangria, good variety of tapas. The place just opened a few days ago so the serving staff is still working out a few kinks. But all in all a lot of potential. Good food, good ambiance and drinks. There is not dedicate parking, but parking shouldn't be too hard on one of the side streets.

Come out to sangrias for some tapas and wine. the bartender Brandy was very attentive, on this snowy night it was a great place to come. I highly recommend this place to anyone. The weekend is a great place to mingle.

So this is kind of an odd place. As long as you don't come in expecting traditional Spanish tapas you'll probably have a good experience. The wait staff were great and the food comes out efficiently. It's often packed but when we came past there was room for us. We had a nice drop in, casual meal here. Some kind of sliders, some calamari and some meatballs. None of them were remarkable but they were pleasant enough.

Very nice sangria selection; however, the food was quite bland. The rice was officially Uncle Ben's microwave tasting. Not good at all. No salt nor seasoning at all in any of the food. The calamari was okay. The sauces were pretty tastes. The ceviche needed more seasoning, lemon, and salt. The chorizo had bean sauce yet no spice. That was odd. The best trying out of this place was the waitress, Kenia. She was FANTASTIC!!!

I am giving this restaurant a 4 because its a good neighborhood joint. Would I recommend someone that lives in Brooklyn that they must come here to eat? no, BUT if you are in the area and want to stay local this is a solid spot. In regard to the OLDER REVIEWS on Yelp complaining about the service, just remember this place opened up only 2 months ago and a restaurant had to work out its kinks, I went there last week for the first time and it was packed so I was happy that I made a reservation. The food was good. I would dine here again for sure.

My husband & I have been to this place many times since it opened and we have found the food very good. The owner and his staff are just wonderful, they couldn't be more gracious. It's become a regular place for us to go. It's great for our neighborhood.

Love this place!! I have been 3 times since they opened 2 weekdays and a Saturday night and it just keeps getting better and better, my husband and I can't get enough! The sangria is amazing and all of the tapas and entrees I have tried were great portions, very tasty and unique! The skirt steak and the tuna tartar are 2 of my favorites. The atmosphere is so upbeat and fun, all in all you can't go wrong, I plan on coming back very soon.

Meh. Just ate here with my fiance. Tapas style places are our absolute favorite so we decided to try. Wasnt awful. Wasnt great. We had the wings, croquettas de jamon and patatas bravas.... Croquettes were yummy. Everything else was ehhhhhh. Again, not disgusting but nothing to rave about. Probably wont be back When i think tapas i think specialized and perfected dishes. This restaurant needs to tweak it and make it pop! The waitress was very nice though so that was a plus. I Give it a two and a half.

Really nice place...romantic, dim lit setting...make reservations if you are coming on Friday or Saturday night after 7pm. My wife and I had the bacon wrapped dates...excellent!!! We then shared the meat paella and it was good but we enjoyed it better with a little hot sauce...flavor was good just a little bland. The service was absolutely superb...ask for Kenia!! I would come back. O def try the sangria (apricot)!!

Sangria is a nice addition to the neighborhood. I was really excited for it to open, and was pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff, great food, and awesome sangria (I tried all of them and can't decide which is the best!). Great place to get together with family and friends to eat, drink, and enjoy each others company. I look forward to going back!

I had such hight hopes for this tapas bar. Whitestone diners are anxious for something other than Italian cuisine. The place was packed, great location, warm and inviting decor. Sadly, I was disappointed. :( The vacant stare of the hostess when we walked in should have been a clue. After being asked if we had a reservation and informed us that they were so busy they couldn't even estimate how long it would be for a table. We decided to sit at the bar and indulge on Sangaria and Tapas & enjoy what we thought would have been a great night out. Giving away samples of sangria is a good idea, .....only if you plan on checking on the customer in hopes of getting an order, the sangria is so delicious but the flavors should be listed somewhere... Samples should be served on a flight or plank. On this night the restaurant and bar were poorly staffed. Tables were not bused and left unattended. The male staff members who appeared to be "management" were not sure of what was actually on the menu. They seemed to be simply walking around looking important. The friendly barmaid/tender was very knowledgable of the menu, professional but completely overwhelmed. She was not only in charge of the many bar patrons, making drinks for the waitstaff, taking food orders from the bar patrons and making an entire batch of new sangria. The young bus boy was one of 2 waitstaff members who seemed to know what to do. They should re group, train and watch food network's "Restaurant Impossible" and pray that the 7 people who walked out tonight come back Good luck! We will give it another try in a few months... This can and I'm sure will be a GOLD MINE with just some ole fashion customer service, authentic "Tapas", live music and marketing.

I trully wanted to like this place. My husband and I live tapas and seeing this restaurant open up near by we were excited to try it out. From the beginning what turned me off was the host (maybe owner?) chewing gum non stop (open mouth and all) as he was greeting us, taking us to our table and suggesting the different sangrias they offer. Later, as I was trying to order food the waiter was a bit obnoxious with calling me "sweety" and such.. For the food: 1. Grilled squid - not properly cleaned (still had a lot of the cartlidge inside ), 2. Anchovies - we were given a plate with 4 pieces of bread and a bunch of anchovies and peppers thrown around it randomly. There was no rhyme or reason to this prese tation, no way to grab a piece and eat. We had to take it appart and make our own sandwiches. 3. Ceviche - giant chunks of seafood in lime juice. Not good. 4. Cajun sliders - where is the cajun??? No sauce at all. 5. Tuna tartar quacamole - this was ok, but nothing special.. A total disappointment over all.. I would expect the quality of food to be much better at a restaurant that just opened and is trying to make it.

Sub-par service. Below average food. Long wait just to place an order. Zero acknowledgement of our presence. Owner is inexperienced , and self important. Arrogant is an understatement. Drinks do not meet up to the establishment's name - watered down . Hospitality, non existent. . Save your money and go and have a nice meal locally for less money at Avli on Bell Blvd. I will be surprised if this establishment makes it to four months. Good Luck...

Just finished having dinner here. The service was wonderful. We had reservations and didn't wait to be seated at all. Our waiter was fun and attentive (I don't remember his name sorry! But he had a pony tail! ) and the food very yummy. They offer 4 kinds of sangria. Of course I choose the strongest of the 4. Lol. Pretty decor. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because they didn't have my favorite gambas al ajillo on the menu (si conoces tapas sabes que es una delicia). I'll def be back. Cheers!

Drove by Sangria last Friday night and it was buzzing so we came tonight to check it out. Wow am I glad we did. The decor is lovely. You feel like you were transporter to a small tapas bar in Spain. The low lighting and Latin music is very romantic. The glass walls were open for an alfresco feel. Now for the food - fabulous. We wanted sangria and were offered free samples of each of the four served this evening. We selected the mango sangria - yum. For apps we had the manchego, Serrano ham and sausage platter with almonds. Perfect. Then we had the Datiles Rellenos, dates wrapped in ham. Wow. For dinner we shared the Paella Valenciana with chicken, shrimp, octopus and chorizo. I highly recommend all the dishes we had. I can't wait to go back and try all the other dishes.

The food is too dry and oily. We got a family meal and it had no flavor. We asked for an extra sauce and they charged us $3.75 for it! The beer was $10 a bottle! Too much money for something we didn't enjoy!

Waited outside for 10 minutes to be seated while there were three empty tables available. No bread was served upon seating. Took forever to get a waiter's attention. Asked for water three times to be served once. Other parties ordered after I and served before I got mine.

This has been on my list to try for the longest. I made a walk-in reservation on Wednesday for tonight's girls night out dinner and the hostess was sweet to seat us at the benches which we had our own section. Our server Kenia greeted me first as I arrived early. As my other two chicas showed up, Kenia made a trip to our table and reintroduced herself to my company. She asked if it was our first time at Sangria which we popped our cherries tonight hehe. We got to try four samples of different fruit infused sangrias. The sister that's drinking got rosada as I got the white peach. Since my friends couldn't eat any meat and we tried some of seafood tapas. Tapas: Croquettes de Mariscos, Risotto Fritters, Caribbean Style Chimi Sliders (just me), Tiradito de Salmon (just my friends), Yucca Bravas, and Fried Calamari Dessert: Pastel Tres Leches...oh boy, oh boy yummmmmmy Great service and even at some point fist pound Kenia for the delicious food :-P Definitely a great atmosphere and service! Its amazing to have a tapas spot in my neighborhood!

The restaurant looks nice and classy, but I wasn't a big fan of the food or the service. We ordered a few dishes and they were mostly misses and maybe one hit. The mussels were ok. I hated the meatballs. They came with olives that really overpowered the taste of the dish. The sliders were very meh. The fries were pretty good. After so many mediocre dishes, I don't know why I decided to try desert. I had the caramel flan, and it was probably the blandest flan I ever had.

Visited this restaurant to celebrate my dad's birthday. We were a party of 7 and had a wonderful experience. The weather was gorgeous so the big open window fronts in the restaurant brought in nice light and a welcomed breeze. The service was great and the food was excellent. We got four different tapas items and each decided to get one paella plate per two people. It was more than enough and the different flavors of sangria were delicious. The owner was so nice and even threw in a free pitcher of sangria of our choice. I highly recommend this place for dinner, drinks at the bar, or whatever you decide to get there.

Always like to go to local places, especially when traveling. This was wonderful, the food was fresh, and the bar selection was great. Check out the social media sites like Groupon to see if they have any specials. They had one while we were there, but it was more sangria than we needed. On my list to come back to.

Great late night spot for tapas and drinks. My friend and i come here after work to chill. They play my favorite reggaton jams and we usually order clams or mussels. I think the best sangria option is the white wine with mangos and blueberries - great if you like tropical beverages.

Almost didn't come here tonight because of all the negative reviews but we were tired and wanted someplace local.. boy am I glad we came! This place is great! To start I asked about their different sangria flavors and our waiter quickly returned with a complimentary tasting flight of all 4 of their flavors. I went with traditional. We ordered so many different dishes, the mussels, the calamari, the chorizo, croquettas de jamon, platter of manchego, fuet, and serrano, yuca frita and finally the cubanito sliders.. with each dish that came out my husband and I were waiting for them to drop the ball but everything was delicious. The yuca frita was better than my favorite Cuban restaurant in the city. Even the service was perfect, our waiter, FaVio was helpful and funny. My husband asked for half and half with his coffee so Favio brought out heavy cream and added it to the milk that was already on our table. My husband was thrilled with this because usually when he asks for half and half he gets a blank stare followed by "we don't have that"! For dessert I had the tres leeches, it happens to be my very favorite cake so while it was delicious, it was not the best I've ever had, but I will definitely order it again when we return.. oh and we will definitely be returning.

Came here on a whim a few nights ago and service was amazing. We were seated promptly and our waitress provided us with a tasting of all the types of sangria they had. Hands down apricot/ peach was the best! For tapas, we ordered the burger sliders and risotto fritters. Burger sliders were perfect, just not very unique in regards to taste. Your typical slider, albeit very good just nothing special. I especially loved the risotto fritters! Crispy on the outside with the perfect melt in your mouth mushroomy cheesy risotto center. For dessert, we choose the churros. Again nothing special but very good. 4 stars for pricing as I did think it was a bit pricy for the amount of food you get. I mean $6 for 4 pieces of churros? You do the math. Food was a 3 star (nothing mind blowing), price 2 stars, sangria 5 stars!

  • Veronica L.

This place has delicious food and great service! We came here because of a Groupon deal that included two flights of sangria (4 glasses of different flavored sangria) and two tapas per person. The interior is beautiful and unique. I would give them 5 stars, but like others who have been here, I feel the menu is overpriced. I've been to tapas bars and restaurants in the city that have larger portioned tapas for the same price. Despite the overpriced menu, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Spanish food or those who've never tried it before. It's worth the splurge!

I went today on a Thursday around 7 not very busy until 8pm I got the skirt steak and traditional sangria and for dessert I had the churros. The service was very good and fast. I will be coming back and very soon. Everything was amazing also the tres leeches was banging!!!!

Been here three times, once for dinner and twice for drinks. The location and interior is cozy and inviting, especially now that the weather is warm and they have their many doors open. It's a very nice place to relax and unwind. While I only had dinner here once, the food was mediocre at best. I didn't eat most of the paella since I didn't want to waste my calories...a clear sign that something was amiss since I rarely do that. I came in with a couple of others and they weren't thrilled with their dishes either...so they just filled up on drinks. The sangria, peach to be exact was good the first time I went but seemed to be watered down the last two. While our server at the table was courteous...it was slloooww. Service at the bar is better. The jury is still out with Sangria and am going to visit again. I really like the vibe and want this place to stick around. Fingers crossed.

Really loved it here. Had such a great time. Went with a group of girls, hung out at the bar until the table was ready. Owner and staff were super friendly. They brought us complimenty shots of strawberry cheesecake.... soooooo good, this shot tasted like candy! Ambiance was great, lighting wasnt too bright nor too dark - was just right. Decor was beautiful, absolutely loved the brick walls and chandlier. Food was delicious and the pricing was super fair. Got buzzed off one drink. Energy was great. Laughed the whole night. So excited to have a fun chill spot in the neighborhood. Will definately be coming back... A LOT!

The food is good but the service is bad!!! From the female bartender with her shirt hanging off her shoulder and only caters to male customers, to the no personality waitress, and the long wait to order drinks ... Their staff needs an upgrade!!! I enjoy the croquettes and the Cuban sliders !!! The sangria is better than most! Will eat here for the food not the service!

I stopped by Last Night to try this place out. Our Waiter was a Funny Guy and I loved him.... Help me Say the Names of the Food Properly in Spanish... My Girlfriend and I had Sangria Which he Brought us Samples Right away to try... We had way more then one :-) That's how Good it was. We just had a Few Apps, but the Food was very Good.... I can't wait for Spring when the Doors open. Good luck on the Grand opening and I'll be seeing you soon.

The waitress we had was awful. She couldn't explain what a flight tasting was replied "I'll just bring it over". Cheese board was Artisan cheese cut on a slicer like American cheese! Atmosphere was beautiful, service was AWFUL. May try one more time in case it was a fluke..but if that is how it really is, they will close down soon.

Walked in early on a Sunday evening and sat at the bar. Football was on which was a plus and pleasant surprise. The decor was nice but I thought the bar area was pretty bland. It took the bartender literally 10 minutes to approach me seated on the side of the bar which had nobody else there. Strike one! Once she had finally come over she provided samples of the multiple types of sangria they served. I went traditional as it tasted the best but wasn't anything to get excited about. Personally, I am all about service and waiting for 10 minutes to be acknowledged put us off to a bad start. It would take a lot to get us back on track. When approached I was asked if I would like to see a menu which i indeed did. Once my drink was served there was no menu in sight and I waited a good 5 minutes before I had to ask to see it. Strike two! The food was taking a while and I didn't mind. I was there to have a few drinks, watch the game, enjoy the company and sample the menu. But once I realized it was going to be a while I asked for some plantain chips which I saw in the menus thinking it would be quick. They should be serving complimentary with the drinks but that is another conversation all together. The food came out, no plantain chips. The Cuban sliders were very good. The fried calamari and potato croquettes were "okay" at best and nothing you will remember. After all the apps were gone I had to ask about the plantain chips. Strike three!!!!! It's a local place. Parking is bad. Service is lacking and the food is nothing that your going to rave about. If you live within a few block radius, I could see it being a good fit for a drink but other then that, there are better options not too far away.

Location in the past seemed to be a problem but Sangria was pretty crowded on a Saturday night. My husband loved his ham wrapped dates with blue cheese. My paella and his skirt steak were both very good. Nice ambience. The only negative is that they only have a list of bottles and pitchers and I had to ask for it. I was able to get just one glass of sangria but you would never know that. It should be printed on back of menu as with most restaurants.

Came to have dinner with my sisters on a Friday night, this restaurant is amazing. First of all the staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was authentic to the Spaniard theme. After living in Spain for over 2 years I was pleased to know that an authentic spaniard restaurant has opened in the area. I was able to sample the four different sangrias (which I recommend the apricot.) Awesome experience and will certainly come back.

I bought a groupon for $35 that claimed to be worth $91. Yeah right. Food was good. But the portions were so tiny my boyfriend asked me what we were eating after as soon as they put it in front of us. Sangria was ok. Watered down bc they put all four in front of u at once and it was mostly ice. I'm not sure if the portions were specific to groupon but it was ridiculous. Not even worth the $35. If the food didn't taste good and the service wasn't good I would give 1 star. I hate thinking I'm getting a good deal to be disappointed. $91 my ass.

I really want this place to succeed! They are fairly new so I understand they are going to have some growing pains. I'm going to give my pros and cons in hope that it helps them and will be back in a few months to see if they've reached 5 star status. Pros 1. It is beautiful inside. The chairs are comfortable, decor warm and inviting, and very clean. 2. The people working there were very nice. The bartender was nice but he did seem nervous. 3. They gave us free sangria to taste. Cons 1. Entrees are over priced. This is not Manhattan. 2. The food was bland and over cooked. 3. The sangrias were only ok...they came from a plastic fruit punch dispenser. 4. The concept of the place is confusing. The sign says "Tapas and Wine"...the tapas was more like an appetizer menu. They had entrees too. I was expecting a wine menu but they don't even have a drink menu. I understand sangrias are made with wine but I was expecting a nice wine selection since their sign said "wine." They had 4 bottles of 1.5 liter cheap California wine. It's not too late. Just call it a come back!

We'd been eagerly awaiting the opening of Sangria, which marketed itself as a tapas joint, and were excited to go celebrate our anniversary about 3 months after its opening. The atmosphere is inviting, with a warm romantic glow and rustic decor. Service was excellent -- although it was a slow Monday evening, the wait staff checked on us unobtrusively and often instead of sitting back. I also loved that they offered us a flight of sampler sangria. But there's no wine menu yet, so the selection is a bit limited despite the full bar. The menu is not huge, which might be a good thing because many dishes sounded appealing. We ended up with the white sangria (peach?), which was summery and sweet. Ordered the yuca fries to start -- hot, crispy -- but I was underwhelmed by the trio of dipping sauces, which my husband liked, but I found lacking in flavor. We also ordered the Caribbean-style sliders, which were sorta passable again, my husband liked them more than me). Albeit over-salted, the pork loin over yuca mash and greens (with an ornamental plantain chip) was good-- well cooked, well flavored. We also test-ran a chocolate mousse dessert that wasn't on the menu yet - very decadent and filled with little crunchy bursts. The owner also came to say hello when he heard that we'd met his mom at Staples while she was printing up menus for tge restaurant (true story!). Apparently, we'd also guinea-pigged the restaurant's first ever opentable.com reservation, since they had just activated their account that very morning. The friendly greet and the dessert on the house was a nice surprise and great way to wrap up our meal, In short, some flaws, but still a great neighborhood spot and we'll probably be back. (3.5 stars)

Same owner as my favorite Italian restaurant in Queens, Villagios. I really had high hopes for this restaurant. But maybe since its only been opened a few months it didn't meet my expectations? It really is lovely inside, like the other reviewer said. But the food was average, nothing amazing at all. I had the Pollo al ajilo I've had my fair share of meals at tapa/Spaniard Restaurants so I do know what it's supposed to taste like, and this just wasn't it. The white sangria we had, tasted like Pinot Grigio poured into a pitcher with a couple of blueberries added. (sangria typically isn't served with just ONE fruit but a multitude of fruits) Maybe I'll come back towards the end of the year.

We went on a Sunday night at prime dinner time. Been looking forward to the opening of this place. Wow were we disappointed! The sangria was good so we had high hopes but it all went downhill from there. Had the calamari which totally lacked the number one staple..... Seasoning! Boooo Next we had the seafood paella which once again lacked any flavor. Salt pepper garlic onions. All basics of cooking 101. The shrimp were bland and overdone. The tomatoes lacked any flavor. Even the peppers were tasteless. We were compt for the meal which was a very nice gesture but in all honestly being a chef I can honestly say this was the worst and most disappointing meal I've ever had. Hope it was just a bad day and this is not a taste or lack there of of what's to become of this place.

My friend and I arrived here on a saturday night for dinner. Judging from the crowd of people, I had good hopes for this place. My friend was running a bit late, so I got a seat at the bar and started perusing the menu. Since the place was named Sangria..., I figured I'd try a sangria (there are 4 different types by the way). The bartender was nice enough to let me sample all 4 before choosing my poison - the only one i liked was the classic red sangria, but i've had better sangria elsewhere. Once my friend arrived, we were seated and ordered our tapas. We got the patatas bravas (a must at any tapas place), chorizo, and some type of seafood fritter. (they had run out of the cuban sliders). The patatas bravas greatly lacked in flavor - they tasted like plain baked potatoes. The chorizo was nothing special and I can't even remember how the fritters tasted like - i just remember they fell apart too easily (I couldn't even pick it up with my fork). Overall, I probably would not come back here for tapas or the sangria. And I was so excited for a new tapas place to open up near my hood.

I read the mixed reviews and decided to try the place out since it was their grand opening. The sangrias tasted like wine and fruit flavor infused. The rose and the red ones tasted like cold syrup. If the restaurant is called sangria, they should try to make some decent sangria. The best out of many appetizers ordered were the very chewy clams. The waitress recommended what was supposed to be their best and chorizos werent great and the WORSE of them were the bland not to mention spoiled sour seafood croquettes. Great way to start a grand opening with spoiled food... i dont see this restaurant lasting too long... Read other low rated reviews before stepping into this restaurant. Its not worth the money for sour and mediocre food. Dont even waste money on $8 tres leches. They should just call it one leche...

Not looking hopeful Live in area and wanted to support this place. Went twice, and enjoyed delicious dishes, but agree with other Yelpers issues on timing of plates, spotty service and "managers" standing around doing nothing. Called yesterday to make a reservation - thought we'd bring friends - apparently bad timing. Hostess was notably put out by my request and put me on hold for 3 min before I hung up. I'm glad they're doing so well they don't need my business.

My friend and I went to Sangria Tapas & Wine the other night. We were excited there was a Tapas bar opening in the area! We were greeted immediately by the bartender and found out there were 4 different Sangrias to choose from. The bartender was very nice and let us try all 4 to help us make our decision. I ordered a glass of the Red Sangria and my friend ordered a glass of the Cava Sangria, although it was so hard to choose. They were all soo tasty! We decided to order the meat and cheese plate and Calamari. Both serving sizes were perfect for us to hang out for a while and listen to good music in a cool atmosphere. All in all our experience went very well and we are both very happy that this place is close to home when we want to stop in for some good food, drinks, and good times!

The flan. Oh my. Service was great. Liked being able to sample the sangrias. I'll be back with friends. Dining alone and had a choice of seats and great service. Let alone enjoying the flamenco guitarist b

The sangrias are excellent and the food is very tasty. However, we used a groupon which promised two tapas per person. The groupon portions were way smaller than the regular ones we ordered later as we were still hungry.

Went last week, as an impulsive stop. We wanted to try a new neighborhood place. Resturant was super crowded, and had a mixed crowd of diners, from families to couples. To start off, they offer a variety of Sangria,s that are incredible! So flavorful! We actually tried three of them! And they were all fantastic! Next up , the food. Its a tappas resturant so not to many selections but as other reviews stated, the churraggo? ( grilled meat) was very tasty and cooked perfectly. Only downside was they took over an hour to bring us our appetizers! ;( Food was great, drinks awesome, and they were nice enough to bring us free desserts. In my opinion, they've earned a second chance. Well go back soon!

Got in, barely anybody there. Ordered some food, good so far. Ok, waiting... 30 minutes go by. Still no food. 45 minutes go by, still no food. Kinda ridiculous. 1 hour goes by and my food finally comes. Food was good, wait wasn't.

Anyone who gives the joint more than 1-2 stars is either the owner or an employee. The place is horrible--with Manhattan prices. The sangria is watery. The food was cold and dry. I had clams with sand in them. It's such a disappointment: the owner of this place also owns Villagio italian restaurant in Whitestone. Stick to what you do best. Sangria is awful, don't get caught here.

I went last night, it's a great idea to put this kind of restaurant in this area since they don't have authentic Spanish food anywhere nearby. The prices for the tapas were a little over priced. The sangria pitcher is very much over priced and the quality was not that great. Sangria is not simply wine, a few pieces of cut up fruit and ice cubes. It's an elaborate process to make decent sangria and they have not perfected that recipe yet. The taste of the tapas was great. They have a lot of good options in regards to the food selection. I was a little disappointed with how the dessert was presented. Coming from a Spanish background and having been to other authentic Spanish restaurants in Astoria and other places in NY, the way that they presented the Churros dessert was not good. First of all, churros are long and thin and soft. These churros are the same awful quality that you would find waiting at the roosevelt train station with the little lady selling cold hard churros from a cart. Second of all, churros are served with a mug full of hot chocolate not a skimpy little half way filled sample cup. They failed also to have on their menu the Crema Catalana as a dessert option and their Nutella crepe was decent but skimpy as well. The desserts need some work done and the prices for those desserts need to come down a notch for what they are giving. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the my time there, but It won't be on my to-do list in the near future unless they modify somethings.

We live very close to Sangria and looking for a new restaurant to try. We saw Sangria on Open Table and read the reviews. Some were good- some were so so. They advertise "Tapas", which we love and 4 different types of Sangria. We made a reservation, and were seated immediately at a small table- ok- but when you order "Tapas" a small table can be challenge. The reviews said if this is your first time- they offer you a tasting of the 4 types of Sangria they serve, The drink menu only had speciality drinks- no mention of Sangria or the wine menu. The waitress came and basically never mentioned the Sangria and we had to ask her what t type of wines they had. We expected a Spanish Restaurant to have variety of Spanish wine - only one at that time. We ordered a bottle of Spanish Red, which was excellent and then our order. We ordered the mussels and 2 other "Tapas" The mussels arrived after we almost finished the bottle of wine and honestly- they were excellent! Then the nightmare started! We are waiting and waiting for the next order of Tapas and it never came. People around us who sat down after us were getting all their food. Tapas should be delivered one after the other- that is how great Tapas Restaurants serve. After about 20-25 minutes after we finished the mussels we called over the waitress, when we finally got her attention. Her answer was' Oh- they are coming". When the other tapas did not arrive after another 5 minutes, we called the waitress over to cancel our order and give us the bill. The manager came over and stated "The waitress said you are upset over the food not coming"- rather than apologizing- his answer was- "The waitress put in the other Tapas after the Mussels knowing the table was small"-understandable- but a 30 minute wait is unacceptable! He gave us the check and we only paid for the wine. Nice of him- but unfortunately they lost a possible good customer!

I am writing an update to my first review of this restaurant because I want to make it clear that I enjoyed my first visit here. It was my husband's birthday and he wanted to come here for dinner, as we enjoyed ourselves the previous visit, we only live two blocks away, and could walk. I began calling to make a reservation around 2pm, but couldn't get through, so about 3:30-4:00pm, I walked over and made a 7:30 reservation for this Saturday evening. It was no problem. The woman who I thought was the hostess wrote down my name, number, time and my request that I didn't want to sit near the door. I told her it was a special evening because it was my husband's birthday. She assured me it was taken care of. We arrived at 7:28pm. When I gave the hostess my name and time of reservation she told me that someone with my same first name had already taken the table. I explained that I came in that afternoon, made the reservation, etc. She was confused, walked into the back and came back out with someone who appeared to be a manager. She told the manager that she gave the table to someone with my same name that arrived at exactly 7:30 - which was a lie - because I was there before 7:30. I explained to him that I came in to make the reservation in the afternoon and I just wanted a table. The manager at that point began questioning me and my integrity asking me questions such as, "When did you make this reservation? " "Who did you make it with?" And when I couldn't remember, at that moment, exactly what time I entered and what the girl looked like that wrote down my reservation, it became insulting. This inquisition questioned that I actually made a reservation, even though it was my phone number in their reservation book. He was condescendingly/sarcastically saying, "I'm trying to help you." As the hostess was implying that I lost the table because I was late. At that point my husband decided this was not where we would be eating tonight.......or ever again. Considering this is a neighborhood restaurant, and I made it clear that I live in walking distance, neither the hostess, nor the manager made me feel welcomed or valued. I wonder if they considered that one day they may be relying on the residents of the neighborhood to sustain the success of their establishment?

Enjoyed all of our tapas. Grilled sqiud, cubanitos, mussels and chimi sliders were delicious. Also loved the rissotto fritta. The white wine sangria made with mangos and blueberries was a refreshing summer drink. Will be back.

Disaster. Came here expecting a decent meal during its grand opening weeks. Watery soulless sangria! - How can you name a place after a drink and serve terrible Sangria's? Terrible rude and obnoxious service, our portly waiter was rude and smug. Popping down dishes without helping us arrange the plates to fit onto the table. He lauded how great the meatballs were and how they were marinated in wine or some mumbo jumbo. What we got were flavorless meatballs, I've literally had better meatballs at Ikea. The clams were full of sand and were not fresh. The Humus was LOADED with salt omg. Ordered a charcuterie board and waiter failed to tell us they had run out bread to serve with it. Later offered pita bread which we declined. The owner later tells us that they do have bread and will send it yet it never arrives. Jamon Serrano Ham from the charcuterie board was old and stale tasting, almost as if it was cut too close to the surface which had a moldy taste. The owner also knew we weren't too pleased with our meal and asked whats wrong which was a nice gesture however we were too embarrassed for him to say basically everything. By no means were we expecting a 5 star meal but for the price and its locale we sure deserved a hell of a lot more. We decided to just wing it locally instead of trekking to the city or Astoria and what a mistake it was. Commanding Manhattan prices for a local joint, I had hoped they would have had a half decent offering of food for the cost nonetheless.

With a family in the restaurant business I understand that there's often kinks that need to be worked out, but nothing irritates me more than an inattentive staff. Went here with my mother and was asked if we had reservations (the entire place was empty except for 3 tables) ... Didn't get a chance to ask to sit by the window because the guy walked our menus to a table and walked away without a word. Our waiter was very nice, however so completely absent! He was more concerned with the soccer game playing on tv. I had to track him down to tell him we were ready to place our orders because after he gave us our drinks he literally walked away without a word as if he had an agenda. The food was decent. Some things tastier than others. In my opinion they need salad options on the menu. How ironic that I almost forgot to talk about the sangria- what they should be known for! It was soooo basic!!! I almost didn't want to drink it. I got the one with strawberries (they have 4 kinds) and it kindve grossed me out how fermented and mushy the strawberries looked in the sangria. I know the strawberries serve a purpose and should be in the sangria for a while, but still grossed me out. I would go back and try something else on the menu and a drink from the bar instead of the sangria. However I hope the owner reads these reviews and takes from them because there seems to be a common complaint. Tell your waiters to be more attentive!!! And work on that sangria.

We have been meaning to try this place for a while and finally got there this week and it was great. We sat at the bar and the bartender Kristina was very nice, she let me and my wife try all the different sangrias. We decided to get margaritas instead and she made them fresh and they were awesome. The chipotle wings were crispy, good looking and had the perfect amount of sauce on them with a little kick. We also ordered the meatballs, tostones, ham croquettes (very good) with churros for dessert. We enjoyed everything we ordered and everything was half off for happy hour, will 100% be returning to try some more tapas.

Went to Sangria the other night with some of my friends and opted to sit at the bar. First off the bartender was so sweet and let us try all the sangrias they offer which are 4 different ones. We ordered a bunch of tapas and could not get enough. Highly recommend tuna tartar with avocado, potato croquettes with seafood and mushroom croquettes. A lot of the items have manchego cheese which I am a huge fan of, everything was so flavorful. The menu is extensive and I am eager to go back and try new things. Parking is actually not a problem when you park up a side street which I have to do often when going to restaurants in Queens. Overall it was a great time and will be going back soon now that the holiday season is over.

I'm giving it 3 stars the food is delicious but horribly long wait. Waitress took forever with the food and wasn't attentive. This place has potential for greatness but they have to step up their game. More in tuned wait staff a better flow in the kitchen. I literally waited hours at the table for my food. We were a large group with small children. Luckily the kids were patient. Lots of mistakes with the orders. Waitress gave us one kids meal we needed 4. Wrong orders for others in my party. Get it together

I had a great experience here. For dinner we ordered yucca fries, fish tacos & clams de sangria which were delicious and good portion to share. Churros with chocolate sauce for dessert- perfection! Best sangria I've ever had. Ask for Kenia, she was awesome & very friendly.

The staff were also very friendly and very attentive, which was good.. I had the churrasco which was delicious.. I give this place a A+ and highly recommend it

Came here for a Friday night glass of wine and some tapas. They just open a week ago and although there were not many wine selections yet they had a nice Cabernet available. We ordered 2 tapas appetizers the portions were bigger then other tapas I have had. The food was delicious, They start out serving a nice basket of yucca/ plantain chips with amazing sauces. Service was great and decor is beautiful. I really hope this restaurant does well, it's a very nice place - we will definitely be back.

Had a reservation for 8pm and got seated at 8:345. Sangria drinks were good ( the apricot variety) . Service was good but most importantly the food was at the very best average to below average. The meat paella was way over cooked and tough . Would go back for the sangria and Maybe a cheese platter but nothing else. The bill was also not cheap for the quality of the preparation of the food. I hope they step up their game.

...I was really surprised to see this new Tapas place open just a couple of months ago and I was really curious to try it out. I got a chance today and am so glad to have tried it. We ordered drinks first...my husband wanted to try their sangria and they brought out four different sangrias in shot glasses to try out--My husband ended up picking the traditional sangria though all four tasted pretty good. My mojito was on point...it was one of the best mojitos I've had! I can tell the mixologist is really good with the drinks. For food, my husband ordered the paella Valencia and I ordered a few tapas... Like the fried calamari, fried yuca, and something else that I can't recall the name of....and for dessert, we split the churros. Overall, I thought the food was good especially the paella, and the ambiance and service and drinks were very good. I hope this place is to stay bc we need a place to hang out like this especially in this neighborhood.

Great service and the sangrias were great. Some were stronger than others but definitely recommend the strawberry sangria if you are a light drinker like me. Also the tapas were tasty and filling. We had four tapas and were full.

Service was good. Food is pretty good, best thing we had was fried calamari. Prices a little high. Brought a Groupon which made it more reasonable which came with a sangria tasting. Sangria is pretty good, not great. Beware when the groupon says includes tapas plates, they have Groupon portons which are 1/3 the size of their normal portion. So the deal they say you are getting is not true. The Groupon portion of shrimp was 3 small shrimp which they stated at $12 a portion. This is Flushing not NYC and that is not real. We would go back but only with a coupon. It is a pretty restaurant, nice for a date.

Tried it out last Thursday night.. It was packed with a band and flamenco dancer (which was nice). They have different kinds of sangria that they allow you to taste before choosing one to order. Unfortunately their food just didn't do it for me. I ordered the salmon which was doused in a lemon lime sauce that sucked. I could barely get one bite down. The sliders and wings weren't fabulous either. However the ambience and environment were great!

My friend and I wanted to try out this place due to our love of Sangria (the drink). We arrived this evening at 7:30. There were some people at the bar and 3 tables of people dining. The hostess greeting us and I said table for two please. The hostess said one minute. She then asked if we had reservations. I said no. She then preceded to tell my friend and I that they were booked solid for the night and could not accommodate us. There were 15 empty tables. The place was. EMPTY. She shunned us away as if we were homeless people. She was very rude. The owner needs to reexamine the staff. I would not recommend this place. Lucky for us there was no room in the EMPTY restaurant because a few doors down was a Greek Restaurant. The food and staff were great and friendly. Sangria is nothing more than snooty bar Manhattan wannabe stuck in Flushing and so is the stuck up Hostess.

Wanted to take my mom & aunt for a nice local dinner. Love Tapas so planned to go to Sangria. What an excellent choice! Great service! Thanks Fabio. The food was beautifully plated and the service excellent. Very friendly and attentive staff. Flavorful Paella as well as a delectable assortment of Tapas! I highly recommend! And finish off with a delicious Flan topped with Grand Mariner. One my new favorite list!!

I just went here for the first time and was really pleasantly surprised. In a neighborhood full of mediocre Italian and Greek restaurants, this place is a wonderful addition. Try the ceviche and the tuna tartare!
